MAG airports are a big part of their local communities, employing locally and working to make sure that the benefits of our airports are felt close by.
Our Community Funds offer direct financial support to community projects, while our colleagues offer their time and expertise to lend a hand too. But it isn’t just about funding.
We want the communities that live closest to us to be familiar with what we do, have a voice to help shape our activity and feel comfortable raising any concerns with us. We run dedicated community outreach events throughout the year and regularly engage with local councils to help us to improve what we do and to understand how we are best able to support local areas.
We provide support to local schools and colleges, especially in areas that are most affected by our operations, to play our part to inspire young people so that they can better understand the world of work. We have a dedicated education website and ‘Aerozone’ on-site education centres with free to use teaching resources for all ages, as well as advice for those looking to come and work at our airports. This work has meant that over 20,000 young people have had their education supported by MAG, and we aim to have supported 50,000 by 2020.
